Meningie

Meningie is on the other side of Lake Albert and is a full day’s sail from Goolwa. Sail as for Narrung and then negotiate ‘The Narrows’ a twisting channel of reed beds and muddled waterways. Then sail across the lake to the little town of Meningie, which has a sailing club, and virtually every service and shop you might need. There are a couple of jetties to moor to or simply anchor in the lake, however if the wind is blowing from the wrong direction there is nowhere to hide. Please note none of the jetties extend into deep water and deep draft vessels may not be able to reach them and may have to anchor off. There is some protection from certain wind directions even when the yacht club jetty is unusable - see the map below.
